New Delhi
Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari, Ameer (National President) of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, has expressed deep concern and displeasure over the continued arrest of Muslim youths in the name of ISIS and terrorism. In the past also, Maulana Umari said, Muslim youths have been arrested in the name of terrorism but the courts have acquitted most of them of all terror charges.
He further said that during the last one year, there was a decline in the arrest of Muslims in terror cases and it appeared as if the government was serious about the case of unnecessary arresting. Prime Minister and Home Minister also had clearly said on many occasions that they were sure that Indian Muslims won’t fall into the net of ISIS and Al-Qaeda. Despite this, the government seems to have launched a new series of arresting of Muslim youths either because of some specific policy or toeing the unjustified and cruel line of anti-Muslim foreign forces. The government has no feeling about how much this attitude would damage its image and the reputation of the country both at home and in the world. Maulana Umari said that through such arrests, there is a conspiracy to create an environment of fear in the Muslim community and to destroy the career of highly-qualified Muslim youths. This is a matter of grave concern.
Ameer-e Jamaat demanded the government to immediately release arrested innocent persons or fast-track their cases in courts in order to end the violation of human rights, to fulfil the requirement of Constitution and to ensure justice to the affected people.
