A massive protest rally was carried out jointly by over 35 socio-political organizations condemning the brutal murder of thousands of Sikhs in the national capital and across the country in 1984 carnage. The protestors raised slogans of unity ‘Ek pe Hamla Sab pe Hamla’ and ‘We Want Justice’.
One of the worst massacre ever occurred on earth is 1984 Sikh genocide, because in a participatory democracy where the administration and government machinery was controlled by the representatives of the people. And the judiciary too totally failed to bring the culprits to the punishment, though named reports were lost and accused persons were identified.
Lokraj Sangathan has been carrying on the movement for justice for a number of years by jointly organizing protest demonstrations and massive public conferences every year. SDPI has been honored to be called as a Joint Organizer of the programme.
While addressing the gathering at the public meet, organized at Jantar Mantar on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of Sikh Genocide, SDPI National Vice President Adv Sharfuddin Ahmad said, the new guiding principles of the joint struggle against fascism under the garb of saffron creed to perpetrate caste and communal discrimination is controlled on the principles of differentiation and on the principles of birth and community. So, the have-nots discriminated lots and sufferers must come together to form a united force to combat to implement the tenets of the constitution and to root out the principles of the Manusmriti.
A huge count of SDPI cadres and members participated in the public meet. As the programme was participated by various organizations, the gathering was huge in numbers. Several prominent rights activists too shared the dais.
